Snoring & Sleep Apnea

Dr. Shearer and Associates specialize in treatment of snoring and mild-to-moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) through use of various types of dental appliances. OSA occurs when the airway becomes blocked during sleep, disrupting rest and interfering with the flow of oxygen throughout the body. Left untreated, it increases your risk for serious health problems, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Oral appliances are a common and cost-effective solution for OSA, and are covered by many medical plans.

We begin by screening to determine whether OSA is present, and its severity. If appropriate, models of the teeth are then made. The oral appliance is constructed using these models.
