CEREC is an impressive process using CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing). It allows your dentist to examine a tooth and prepare a treatment in a single visit. During the process, a 3D computer model of the tooth is created. Using the CEREC computer program, the dentist then designs the individual restoration. A milling machine in the office then crafts a ceramic block into the individualized restoration.

The final step is for the restoration to be bonded to the tooth. The process ends with a permanent restoration created and bonded in one single visit.
